Team RBN Spotlight – Tim

Amy Begin

  • What do you do here at RBN?

Well, as the new guy here, I am spending much of my time learning about what we do, how we do it, and what makes us so good! Then, all I need to do is sell it! (Tim is RBN’s Enterprise Account Manager)

  • When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be anything in the world except an engineer. My Dad was an engineer and was bored to tears most of his career.

  • What things do you look for in your workplace?

I like having the amenities, but more importantly is being around smart people. I never want to be the smartest guy in the room.

  • If you could switch your job with anyone else within RBN, whose job would you want and why?

Too soon to tell – but right now I wouldn’t want to switch with anyone.

  • What advice would you give anyone starting out in the industry?

Network, network, network! Keep every contact you make, and never burn a bridge!

  • What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Well, I am too old to be a professional tennis, golf or hockey player – so I’ll just stick with what I do best!

  • If you were the subject of a movie about your life, what would the title of the movie be, what genre, and what actor would you like to play you?

My favorite movie is The Godfather, so let’s go with that. Al Pacino was perfect!

  • If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?

They’d have to fly me to Donovan’s Steak House in Phoenix where I’d have the seafood tower as an appetizer and a filet and twice baked potato for the entree, with key lime pie for dessert.

  • Do you have any hidden talents?

Well, they wouldn’t be hidden if I shared, would they!

  • What do you do for fun outside of work?

Mostly I take every opportunity in good weather to ride my Indian Roadmaster. I also walk my Yellow Lab Gus – or sometimes he walks me. I like golf, but have a bum arm and it takes too much time when I could be riding! Given a choice between 18 holes of golf or a 5 hour ride on the Indian – it’s the Indian, hands down!

  • What are your three most overused words/phrases?

1 – You can do whatever you want — on your last day! 2 – How the hell do I – – – (referring to all the new stuff I should be able to figure out on my phone) 3 – Sit, stay, off, up, and many more – – – to Gus!

  • What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I once worked at a steel mill sweeping the receiving docks. I lasted 4 hours!

  • What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

Have more fun, do better in school, go to college right away, buy stocks in high tech companies when they come around – Apple, Microsoft, etc. O, and go to Woodstock, no matter what my parents say! (I guess this one ages me pretty accurately!)
